Palmatum Maple
Among the bonsai maples, the Palmatum is certainly the best known. We appreciate the fineness of the leaves as well as their spring and autumn color. As the vegetation starts, you'll see delicate red leaves coming out of the buds. They will then turn green before turning red again in the fall. A bonsai palmatum maple is really rewarding in a collection because it is beautiful all year round and is very easy to grow. You just have to watch out for the hot wind in summer that can burn its leaves. In winter, when they have fallen, the fine branches are revealed and it is the best season for the Japanese to appreciate them because it is there that you see all the pruning work that has been done for years.
