Metasequoia
The metasequoia is one of the few conifers in bonsai that loses its leaves. It is therefore obsolete, which makes it particularly interesting. In autumn, the light green foliage turns pinkish-brown and old gold before fallingoff. We also appreciate its cracked bark that comes off over time in strips to reveal a trunk in orange hues. Its growth is quite fast in the ground but more moderate in pots, but the foliage becomes denser quite quickly. It enjoys the sun and abundant watering during the summer, it is actually a fairly easy bonsai to grow. The metasequoia is above all an emblematic tree with this trunk that soars towards the sky in search of light, so it will be mostly found in straight shapes.
